Mission statement

Humanity, professionalism and quality

Our patients are our first priority. Our primary goal is to support them in their social and professional reintegration after they have largely recovered. As part of our treatment concept, we promote a positive understanding of health and the development of personal strategies for coping with physical and mental limitations.

The Company

History

"Tradition has a future" - an oft-quoted saying that we are very happy to embrace, as the Klinik Dr. Baumstark can look back on a history of more than one hundred years.

In 1911, the Klinik Dr. Baumstark was founded by Dr. Robert Baumstark, a physician from Bad Homburg. The location was chosen jointly by him and his wife Jenny Baumstark as an ideal place for recreation and health, and it was opened on June 15, 1911, as a sanatorium for metabolic diseases.

Haus Jacobi, the listed old building of the clinic, was expanded in 1977 and 1997. A new main building, housing the rooms, a gymnasium, and a fitness room, was added. Each building is individually designed, tastefully furnished, and has its own special interior design touch.

Affiliation

The operating company Klinik Dr. Baumstark GmbH is a subsidiary of Kur- und Kongreß-GmbH Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe, which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of the city of Bad Homburg.

The Dr. Baumstark Clinic is licensed to carry out preventive, rehabilitation and follow-up treatment measures in accordance with § 107 Para. 2 of the German Social Security Code (SGB V). Pursuant to § 30/155 of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act (Gewerbeordnung), it is licensed to operate a private hospital and is eligible for subsidies. Members of the statutory health insurance funds and the German Pension Insurance Association can thus receive benefits for preventive care (§ 23 Para. 3 SGB V), rehabilitation § 40 SGB V and follow-up treatment at the Dr. Baumstark Clinic.

Quality management & certificates

Internal and external quality assurance

At the center of all efforts at Dr. Baumstark Clinic is the patient. Therefore, internal and external quality assurance is indispensable.

Internal quality assurance includes process plans for specific issues such as emergency management. Patient-centered discussions within the rehabilitation team are held on a weekly basis, and if needed, in smaller groups upon short notice. In addition, regular internal training measures such as emergency medicine courses, lectures, and working groups on selected rehabilitation-related topics are conducted. Furthermore, there are weekly interdisciplinary meetings involving department heads, the administration, nursing management, housekeeping, and others. Internal committees regularly address issues such as hygiene, occupational safety, medication, and more.

As part of internal quality assurance, our service processes are regularly audited to identify weaknesses early on and initiate corresponding improvement measures.

Our clinic operates a quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and QMS-Reha®, taking into account the quality criteria of the Federal Association for Rehabilitation (BAR). In this context, the planning of our internal quality management is structured and systematic. A quality management office has been established, which works closely with the management for the maintenance and further development of our quality management system.

Since 2010, the management has conducted an annual management review of our internal quality management system. The basis for this review is the quality report prepared by the quality management office. This report includes an overview of the implemented quality management activities, in line with the continuous improvement process.

The quality report includes feedback from our guests and patients, as well as evaluations of their satisfaction with our service processes. It also covers insights from internal audits, the status of preventive and corrective actions, and external requirements that need to be considered in the presentation of our quality management system in the future.
