THE SURROUNDING AREA

Bad Homburg is located amidst of extensive forests on the southern edge of the Taunus mountain range. Even 100 years ago, the fresh, oxygen-rich Taunus breezes blowing over Bad Homburg and out across the Main valley led the spa town's princely and aristocratic guests to praise its "air like champagne." What was once the leading health resort of its day has since become a modern spa and convention city.

The Dr. Baumstark Clinic has a quiet but central location on the edge of Bad Homburg's Spa Park, which at 44 hectares is one of the largest in Germany. In addition, our clinic is surrounded by its own large park with many flowers and large trees. The city's center and sightseeing attractions are just a few minutes' walk away.

Bad Homburg and the diverse landscape of the Taunus offer numerous opportunities for the active sportsman from tennis and golf to hiking and horseback riding. And the city's cultural calendar offers its guests and inhabitants a wide range of art, music and entertainment events throughout the entire year.

Bad Homburg - the exclusive spa town

Bad Homburg is proud of its 160 years of history as a spa resort, and builds on it with youthful and vivacious flair to offer today's visitors health and wellness treatments at the Taunus Therme, the VitalCenter and the "Kur-Royal" at the Kaiser-Wilhelms-Bad.

Visitors with an interest in history can visit the Russian Church, the Siamese Temple or the Casino, the famous "Mother of Monte Carlo." Other tempting opportunities are visits to the Count's Suite and the Imperial Suite at the Palace of the Counts of Hesse-Homburg, or the museums at the Gothic House and the Saalburg Roman Citadel.

Of course, Bad Homburg's pleasant, calm and cheerful atmosphere also encourages visitors to stroll around the city and the Old Town, where exclusive boutiques, specialist shops and high-class department stores offer quality products at reasonable prices. There is a wide range of places offering food and drink, from bistros and outdoor cafes to beer gardens and top-flight restaurants.

From a base in Bad Homburg, sports enthusiasts can go hiking in the extensive Taunus forests or play tennis or golf (two courses) or simply relax at the exotic Taunus Therme.
